Lautaro Martinez's agent says that the striker will not leave Inter Milan during this summer's transfer window.

Lautaro Martinez's agent has insisted that the striker will not leave Inter Milan during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old's future has been called into question once again in the current market, with a number of clubs believed to be considering making moves for him before the end of the window.

A recent report claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were lining up a €90m (£77m) move for the Argentina international, with Spurs boss Antonio Conte keen on a reunion with the striker.

However, Martinez's agent Alejandro Camano has made it clear that his client will not be leaving San Siro this summer.

"Lautaro is happy in Milan, he feels like he's at the centre of things, he's loved. Why would we want to leave? To where? We're already at the top," Camano told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Meanwhile, Camano also commented on the link between Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, with the latter on the verge of securing a return to the Italian giants on loan from Chelsea.

"There's a link between them, that's evident. Wearing this shirt isn't for everyone. It's a great thing," added the agent.

Martinez was again in strong form for his Italian club during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 25 goals and registering four assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.

In all, he has scored 74 goals and registered 24 assists in 180 outings for Inter since making the move to San Siro from Racing Club in July 2018, and a number of clubs have been linked with his services in recent seasons.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United are all believed to be admirers of the striker, but all four clubs have other priorities during this summer's transfer window.

Martinez has won Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup since arriving at Inter, in addition to finishing as a runner-up in the 2019-20 Europa League.

The centre-forward was also part of the Argentina squad that won last summer's Copa America, and he has scored 20 times in 38 appearances for his country in all competitions.

As well as Lukaku, Inter are working to sign Paulo Dybala on a free transfer from Juventus, but club director Guiseppe Marotta has said that a deal for the forward is far from complete.

"I won't deny that we met with Dybala's representatives. We need to explore new avenues and Dybala is one of those we are currently looking at, but in order to reach a conclusion, we need the parties to converge in the same direction. There is no agreement right now," Marotta told reporters.

Inter, who finished second behind AC Milan in Serie A last season, will open their 2022-23 campaign away to Lecce on August 13.
