RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano could reportedly be available for a cut-price figure £38m during next summer's transfer window.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to one of Europe's biggest clubs all throughout the summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich all believed to have been in the race to sign Upamecano.
However, the 22-year-old opted to stay at Leipzig and pen a new deal until 2023, but Upamecano's low release clause could supposedly spark an intense battle for the centre-back's signature next summer.
According to The Times, Upamecano's £38m buyout clause will become active in 2021, and United will look to strike a deal for the highly-rated defender ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The Leipzig man is expected to line up against the Red Devils when Julian Nagelsmann's side travel to Old Trafford for their Champions League showdown with United on Wednesday evening.
Upamecano has started all five of Leipzig's Bundesliga games this term and already has one goal to his name in the top flight.
