Manchester United have reportedly made Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire their number one transfer target this summer.
United are known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements having failed to bolster their backline last summer or in January, and a number of names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Kostas Manolas and Toby Alderweireld have been suggested as possible answers to United's defensive concerns, but the Manchester Evening News reports that Maguire has now re-emerged as their top target.
The England international was heavily linked with a move to United after starring at the World Cup last summer, but Leicester resisted their advances and eventually tied Maguire down to a new five-year contract.
However, the Red Devils are now expected to revive their interest after interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave Ed Woodward the green light to pursue a deal worth around £65m for the 26-year-old.
Leicester will be reluctant to lose the centre-back, though, with Manolas and Alderweireld considered the cheaper options on United's defensive wishlist.
