Manchester United are reportedly prepared to step up their pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, with Fred on the verge of joining Fenerbahce.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a successful season on the international stage in 2022-23, helping Morocco reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar before losing to France.
Amrabat also guided his club side to the final of the Europa Conference League in Prague, however the Serie A outfit were unable to lift the European trophy after losing to West Ham United in the showpiece match.
The former Hellas Verona man played 29 matches for Fiorentina in Serie A last term - starting 24 of those - and his performances may have been enough to secure an attractive move to the Premier League.
According to talkSPORT, Manchester United are ready to open talks with Fiorentina over the signing of Amrabat, amid suggestions that fellow midfielder Fred is on his way out of Old Trafford.

It is understood that the Brazil international has been put on a shortlist of names who the Red Devils are aiming to offload this summer as Erik ten Hag continues to mould his squad into title challengers.
The report claims that Fred is on the verge of completing a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, with Ismail Kartal's men supposedly set to pay £13m for the 30-year-old.
Since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk for £50m in the summer of 2018, Fred has featured in excess of 200 times for the Red Devils, scoring 14 goals over a five-year period at the club.
It is believed that Ten Hag is looking to rebuild the United engine room around the influential Casemiro, having already secured the services of England international Mason Mount from Chelsea for an initial fee of £55m.
The red side of Manchester have also targeted their goalkeeping and striking departments for improvement this summer, bringing in Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund from Inter Milan and Atalanta BC respectively.

Fred is not the only player that Man United are looking to sell before the transfer window slams shut, with Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire both linked with moves to West Ham United.
It is understood that former United manager David Moyes is a huge admirer of McTominay and Maguire, with the East Londoners reportedly eyeing up a double swoop for the pair.
Donny van de Beek is another man who could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer, with the Dutchman failing to make a significant impression since his switch from Ajax in September 2020.
Man United commence their Premier League campaign with a home match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night, when the likes of Mount and Onana could make their competitive debuts for the club.
