A report claims that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could remain at Manchester United until close to the age of 38 if he agrees to sign a new deal at the club in the coming weeks.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to reward Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his impressive start to life at Old Trafford with a new contract offer.

The ex-Sweden international, who turns 35 next month, has hit the ground running in English football by scoring five goals in his first five games for the Red Devils.

Ibrahimovic was only handed a one-year deal when putting pen to paper earlier this summer on a free contract, with the option of a further 12-month extension, but he could now been tied down for the long term.

According to The Mirror, United chiefs are already preparing to take up that option of a further season while also offering an additional year on top, taking the prolific striker close to his 38th birthday.

Ibrahimovic scored his latest goal for United in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, making him just the third player to find the net four times in his first four league games for the club.
