Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill during the January transfer window.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has reportedly emerged as a January transfer target for Manchester United.

Cahill started for the Blues in the EFL Cup in midweek, but the long-serving centre-back has only played 21 minutes of Premier League football this season.

The England international has acknowledged that he may have to leave Stamford Bridge at the start of 2019, and according to The Sun, United are considering an approach.

Jose Mourinho missed out on a number of defensive targets before the start of the campaign, but the Portuguese is familiar with Cahill having worked with him at Chelsea.

The 32-year-old has less than a year remaining on his contract.
