Manchester United could reportedly offer Atalanta BC the chance to re-sign Amad Diallo as part of a deal to bring Rasmus Hojlund to Old Trafford.
Hojlund is thought to be one of several targets on Erik ten Hag's wishlist for a new striker as the Red Devils search for a permanent successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.
With Man United at risk of being priced out of moves for Harry Kane, Randal Kolo Muani and Victor Osimhen this summer, they were supposedly hopeful of a cut-price deal for Hojlund.
The Red Devils were originally hoping to pay about £40m for the Denmark youngster, but it has since been claimed that the Italian giants could demand as much as €100m (£85.3m) to sanction a sale.
As a result, Man United may need to get creative in negotiations in order to drive the price down, and according to GiveMeSport, the Red Devils could send Diallo in the opposite direction.

The 20-year-old made his breakthrough into the Atalanta first team as a teenager before being snapped up by Man United in an £18.2m deal in 2021, but he is yet to make his mark at Old Trafford.
Following a brief spell with Rangers, Diallo was sent out on loan to Sunderland for the 2022-23 season and starred with 14 goals in the Championship, helping the Black Cats qualify for the playoffs.
The 20-year-old is set to return to Old Trafford for pre-season and remains under contract at the club until 2025 with the option of a further 12 months, but the report claims that Ten Hag may not be able to offer him the game time he desires next season.
Nevertheless, the Red Devils still have high hopes for Diallo and are therefore only willing to sanction another loan exit as part of a deal for Hojlund, whose contract at Atalanta runs until 2027.
Hojlund spent just six months with Austrian giants Sturm Graz before making the move to La Dea, and he ended his debut campaign with 10 goals and four assists from 34 appearances.

The former Copenhagen starlet has also made a big impression internationally with five goals from his first five senior appearances for Denmark, including a hat-trick in a 3-1 Euro 2024 qualifying win over Finland in March.
Meanwhile, Diallo has been restricted to just nine appearances in a Man United shirt since arriving at Old Trafford, scoring one goal and setting up one more in that time.
The Ivorian's nine appearances is four more than he managed for Atalanta's first team, but he caught the eye of Red Devils chiefs at youth level, winning two Italian titles in 2019 and 2020.
Man United failed to sign a permanent replacement for Ronaldo in January and only welcomed Wout Weghorst to the club on loan from Burnley, but the towering Dutchman scored just twice in 31 matches.
Anthony Martial also made a mere 11 Premier League starts during an injury-hit campaign and could be allowed to depart before his contract runs out in the summer of 2024.
