Manchester United reportedly make an enquiry for Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane as Erik ten Hag aims to bolster his attacking ranks.

Manchester United have allegedly made contact over a possible move for Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane.

The 26-year-old's future has been called into question over the past couple of months amid the rife competition for attacking spots in Julian Nagelsmann's ranks.

Sane was named on the bench for Bayern's opening-day Bundesliga thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday, with Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mane, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman preferred in the final third.

The former Manchester City man still came off the bench to set up Bayern's sixth goal in that 6-1 win, making it 25 goals and 25 assists in 89 games for the Bavarians since his 2020 arrival.

Sane remains under contract with the German champions for another three years, but the attacker will be seeking regular starts in the coming months before the 2022 World Cup.

After Real Madrid and Arsenal were credited with an interest in Sane, a recent report claimed that Liverpool were now considering a move for the former Schalke youngster.

Now, The Mirror claims that Man United are the latest team to enquire about Sane's availability, with Erik ten Hag still open to bolstering his attacking options this summer.

Whether Sane would risk crossing the divide from the blue to the red side of Manchester is another question entirely, but he is understood to be on the Red Devils' radar.

Man United had initially earmarked Ajax's Antony as their priority attacking target, with the Brazil international flourishing under Ten Hag during his time in Amsterdam.

Reports have since claimed that the Eredivisie champions have upped their asking price to a staggering £84m, though, which could see Man United drop their interest and search for alternative options.

Speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future continues to dominate the talk of the transfer market, and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is allegedly still determined to leave the club.

However, agent Jorge Mendes has been struggling to drum up interest in his client, which could ultimately force Ronaldo to stay on at Old Trafford until his deal expires next summer.

The 37-year-old has seldom been seen in pre-season for Man United, although Anthony Martial's injury could ultimately see Ronaldo join Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford up top in Sunday's Premier League opener with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Martial was also linked with an exit after falling out of favour at Old Trafford, but the Frenchman enjoyed a strong pre-season and will be given the chance to reignite his career under Ten Hag.

The Red Devils have already signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez this summer and are now reported to have made a concrete offer for Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.
