Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman reveals that he would like to play in England and Spain at some stage in his career.

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has revealed that he would like to play in England and Spain at some stage in his career.

The 26-year-old has spent the last seven years with the German giants, and in January he extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2027.

Coman, who has previously spent time with both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, has won a top-flight title in each of his 10 seasons as a professional player, with last year's Bundesliga crown his seventh with the Bavarian outfit.

The France international has become a serial winner, lifting a total of 27 major trophies in his career, but he is open to the prospect of challenging for more silverware in different countries.

Coman has previously been linked with clubs in both England and Spain – including the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid – and the winger has admitted that he considered leaving Bayern before putting pen to paper on a new deal.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Coman said: "[England and Spain] are definitely two leagues that I would like to play in one day. Before we reached an agreement, I really thought about it.

"I wanted to try something new but, in the end, I talked with [Bayern] and we found an agreement. I didn't talk about anything but football and where we want to go together. For me this was the best [option].

"It was between England and Spain because I wanted to try something that I haven't done. So, France and Italy weren't really an option.

"I really wanted to try something new, a different country, different people, a new league. Of course, the Premier League because it is the best league in the world and Spain because the weather is amazing."

Coman refused to be drawn on exactly which club he would consider joining, but he has talked up three English teams who he admires.

"I would say in general the best teams. I'm someone who aims for the best. I really like the way Man City play, of course with [Pep] Guardiola," Coman added. "I like the way Liverpool play. I like Chelsea as a team, so I will say the three big teams."

While Coman has ambitions to test himself in different countries, the Parisian-born winger is now focused on representing Bayern and hopes to achieve more success with the perennial Bundesliga winners.

"I felt like I had more to do here and that's why I made the choice to stay," Coman added. "My contract just started. I want to show the club that they were right to really believe in me, to give me this opportunity.

"After a while if I feel like I have done my job again – or even more – then maybe I will start to think about trying something else and another country."

Coman experienced a heart condition at the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign and he also picked up a few niggling injuries as well as contracting COVID-19 during the season, but he still managed to record eight goals and six assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.

The 2018 World Cup winner will be competing with the likes of Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and summer signing Sadio Mane for a regular place in Julian Nagelsmann's starting lineup this term.
