Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is being strongly linked with Manchester United, is reportedly open to leaving the club this summer.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is reportedly open to leaving Camp Nou this summer.

The Netherlands international's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with incoming Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag said to be keen to bring him to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils could allegedly use Marcus Rashford as a makeweight in a move for the midfielder, with a recent report claiming that the Catalan giants are open to offers in the upcoming market.

According to Marca, despite being a key player for Barcelona during the 2021-22 campaign, the Dutchman 'is not completely happy at the club' and would consider a summer exit.

The report claims that the former Ajax youngster is becoming increasingly frustrated with being substituted during the second half of matches, having completed just seven of his last 27 matches under Xavi.

De Jong has scored four times and contributed five assists in 43 appearances for his Catalan club during the 2021-22 campaign, but he has only played the full 90 minutes in La Liga on one occasion since the start of February.

The 24-year-old still has more than four years left to run on his contract at Camp Nou but offers in the region of £58m would allegedly be considered during this summer's transfer window.
