Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'intends' to bring a new forward to the club this summer, according to a report.

The Red Devils did not officially replace Romelu Lukaku during last summer's transfer window, but Odion Ighalo did arrive on loan in January after Marcus Rashford picked up a back problem.

Rashford is believed to be nearing a return to full fitness, while United are said to be keen to extend Ighalo's loan move from Shanghai Shenhua, which is due to expire at the end of May.

Anthony Martial's impressive form, in addition to Mason Greenwood's emergence, has left Solskjaer with options in the final third of the field, but according to the Evening Standard, the 20-time English champions want to bring a new striker to the club during this summer's transfer window.

RB Leipzig's Timo Werner and Lyon's Moussa Dembele are both said to be under consideration, while Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez 'is admired by Solskjaer'.

United put five goals past LASK Linz in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League first leg before the majority of football across the globe was called to a halt in March.
