Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly both preparing to hijack Liverpool's move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The Germany international has been in impressive form at club level during the current season, scoring 27 times and providing 12 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
Liverpool have long been linked with the 24-year-old and are seemingly the favourites to sign him during this summer's transfer window despite the coronavirus outbreak.
However, according to Bild, the worldwide pandemic could force the European champions to change their plans, and both United and Chelsea are keeping a close eye on developments as they attempt to agree a deal.
Werner has scored 21 times in 25 Bundesliga appearances during the current season, in addition to finding the back of the net on four occasions in eight Champions League outings.
The striker's existing deal with Leipzig is due to run until the summer of 2023.
