Ajax are aiming to steal a march on Manchester United in the race for Nordsjaelland attacker Kamaldeen Sulemana, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly have to fend off interest from Ajax if they are to land Ghanaian starlet Kamaldeen Sulemana this summer.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign with Danish side FC Nordsjaelland this year, contributing nine goals and six assists in 25 top-flight appearances.

Sulemana's performances have unsurprisingly attracted interest from other clubs in Europe, with Man United understood to be monitoring his development.

However, the Daily Mail claims that Ajax are at the head of the queue for Sulemana's signature, despite seeing a bid of £10m knocked back by Nordsjaelland in January.

The report claims that Ajax director Marc Overmars will fly to Denmark in order to watch Sulemana in action against FC Copenhagen on Monday, but Bayer Leverkusen are also in the race for the teenager's signature.

Sulemana, formerly of Ghana's Right to Dream academy, is contracted to Nordsjaelland until December 2024.
