Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was reportedly "convinced" that his club would complete a loan deal for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele during this summer's transfer window.
The France international's future has been the subject of much speculation over the last few months, but he looks set to spend at least another season at Camp Nou.
Liverpool allegedly made contact with Barca over the possibility of taking the 2018 World Cup winner on loan for the 2020-21 campaign, with the deal potentially including a future permanent transfer.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Klopp was "convinced" that the Premier League champions would agree a loan switch with the Catalan giants.
However, Dembele made it clear that he is not interested in a move away from Ronald Koeman's side.
The 23-year-old has not played a competitive match since last November due to hamstring issues, while he only made five La Liga appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in his services this summer.
