Porto forward Mehdi Taremi is reportedly in discussions with Inter Milan to join the Italian giants on a free transfer at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
The 31-year-old has scored 85 goals and registered 53 assists in 169 appearances for his Portuguese club since making the move from Rio Ave in 2020.
Taremi remains an important player for Porto, featuring on 22 occasions in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and registering four assists in the process.
However, the forward only has a contract with the Blue and Whites until next June, and he is not expected to sign a new deal at Estadio do Dragao.
"He has received €10m (£8.7m) per year salary offers from other clubs... it's impossible to match that," Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently quoted Porto president Pinto da Costa as saying.

Manchester United have been linked with the forward, and a recent report claimed that the club would be willing to make an offer of €10m (£8.7m) during the winter window.
Rasmus Hojlund is still waiting for his first Premier League goal of the campaign, while Anthony Martial is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford due to his struggles.
Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag suggested on Friday that the club would not be active in terms of incomings next month, but there remain claims that a new attacker could arrive, especially with Jadon Sancho set to move on.
Taremi has been linked with a switch to the 20-time English champions, but according to Romano, Inter are currently in the driving seat when it comes to the Iran international.

Romano claims that Porto are determined to keep hold of Taremi in January, with the Portuguese club resisting a mid-season departure.
However, Inter are prepared to wait until the end of the season to sign him, and a pre-contract could be agreed in January to allow him to move to San Siro on a free transfer in June 2024.
The Serie A leaders are said to have pressed for Taremi's signature last summer and will 'push again' in a bid to beat a number of clubs to a deal.
The forward has scored three goals and provided one assist in 14 league appearances this season, while he also netted twice and came up with two assists in six Champions League group-stage appearances.
Man United have also been linked with Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy, who has scored 19 goals and registered two assists in 16 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.
