Andres Iniesta expects Sergio Ramos stay at Real Madrid

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta believes that Real Madrid will not allow Sergio Ramos to leave this summer.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has backed rivals Real Madrid to keep hold of Sergio Ramos this summer.

Ramos's future in the Spanish capital is thought to be unclear as Manchester United remain linked with a move for the defender.

The 29-year-old recently claimed that he was not in negotiations with Madrid or any other parties.

Despite doubts over whether he will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, Iniesta expects Ramos to be a Real Madrid player next season.

"I've always said that Sergio is one of the best centre-backs around," he is quoted as saying by AS. "He's already in a great team and, to be honest, I can't see Madrid letting him leave."

Ramos has won 10 major honours with Los Blancos since joining the club from Sevilla in 2005.
