Andres Iniesta close to agreeing new Barcelona deal?

Andres Iniesta is reportedly close to agreeing a new deal with Barcelona following reported interest from Manchester United.

Manchester United's attempts to sign Spain star Andres Iniesta could be thwarted following reports that the midfielder is close to landing a new Barcelona contract.

Reports emerged overnight claiming that United manager David Moyes has put Iniesta at the top of his wishlist after it had been claimed that talks over fresh terms at Camp Nou had stalled.

However, Catalan newspaper Sport has reported that Iniesta is close to agreeing a contract extension, which includes a significant pay rise, and could be the final deal of his career.

The playmaker's current contract runs until 2015.
