Galatasaray announce that they have not lodged a bid for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Galatasaray have rejected claims that they have attempted to agree a deal with Manchester United for striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The 31-year-old, who recently announced that he is likely to leave the former Premier League champions this summer, has been linked with a £5m switch to the Turkish outfit.

A statement on the club's official website said: "There have been some reports in the media that Dimitar Berbatov will be transferred to our club.

"The club would like to declare that there is no transfer and no attempt has been made in that regard."

Berbatov moved to Old Trafford from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.
