Rio Ferdinand set for new Man Utd deal

Rio Ferdinand could be about to sign a contract extension with Manchester United.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old looks to have shaken off his recent injury woes to help keep United's Premier League title charge on track.

Any fresh terms for the England international could see his current £120,000-per-week deal lowered with bonuses for playing, according to The Sun.

Ferdinand signed for the Red Devils for £30m from Leeds United in 2002.
