Marouane Fellaini unsure over Manchester United future

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini reveals that he expects the club to make him an improved contract offer, but is unsure whether he will accept it.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has confirmed that the club have offered him a new contract, but revealed that he is unsure whether he will accept it.

The 30-year-old is due to be out of contract at the end of this season and has already rejected one new deal from the Red Devils, who are understood to be keen to keep the Belgian at the club.

Fellaini would be free to negotiate with other clubs from next month but expects United to return with an improved offer of their own before he makes a final decision over his future.

"Man United made me a contract proposal and I think they will make an another one," Fellaini told HUMO.

"I don't know yet if I'll accept it - we will see. [Mourinho and I] talked about it. The coach is someone who respects the decisions of his players."

Fellaini has been sidelined since November 25 with a ligament injury which he sustained in September, and the Belgium international also provided an update on his fitness.

"The inner ligaments were hit. A month later I played against Chelsea. But three weeks later against Brighton I felt pain again. I decided not to take risks. I train again, but not at 100%," he added.

"It is not an easy period, but good, that's how it goes in football. And it could have been worse: two weeks before Bosnia, there was that attack by Shane Long. Have you not seen that? Do you see how crazy luck I've had? He could have broken my leg."

Fellaini, who has been linked with a move to Turkey, has made just three Premier League starts for United this season.
