Donny van de Beek is reportedly set to sit down and hold crunch talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over his role at the club following a disastrous first season.

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is reportedly set to hold crunch talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over his future at Old Trafford.

The Netherlands international arrived in Manchester with plenty of promise from Ajax in the summer of 2020, but he endured a nightmare first season under Solskjaer's tutelage.

Van de Beek pulled on the United jersey 36 times in all competitions, but he started just four Premier League games and is already being linked with a move elsewhere.

According to The Telegraph, Van de Beek and Solskjaer will soon sit down to discuss the former's role at the club, with the midfielder desperate for more game time next season.

Despite only claiming one goal and two assists in all competitions last season, Van de Beek has been included in Frank de Boer's Netherlands squad for Euro 2020.

Jose Mourinho supposedly wants to bring the 24-year-old to Roma should his torrid time at Old Trafford cease this summer, but he is under contract with the Red Devils until 2025.
