Manchester United manager David Moyes has reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon as a surprise summer transfer target.
The Red Devils boss is expected to have a £200m war chest to improve his heavily-criticised squad at the end of what is likely to be the club's worst ever Premier League season.
Football Direct News understands that he intends to use a small chunk of this figure to try to tempt Spurs into selling Lennon, who has been a regular since his £1m switch from Leeds United in 2005.
Moyes has apparently been a fan of the 26-year-old's pace and directness since he was in charge of Everton and sees him as a better option than Antonio Valencia on United's right wing.
Lennon has scored one goal in 22 games in all competitions for Spurs this season.
