Manchester United's David Moyes planning Aaron Lennon swoop?

Manchester United boss David Moyes reportedly plans to use some of his summer transfer kitty to try to persuade Tottenham Hotspur to sell long-serving winger Aaron Lennon.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon as a surprise summer transfer target.

The Red Devils boss is expected to have a £200m war chest to improve his heavily-criticised squad at the end of what is likely to be the club's worst ever Premier League season.

Football Direct News understands that he intends to use a small chunk of this figure to try to tempt Spurs into selling Lennon, who has been a regular since his £1m switch from Leeds United in 2005.

Moyes has apparently been a fan of the 26-year-old's pace and directness since he was in charge of Everton and sees him as a better option than Antonio Valencia on United's right wing.

Lennon has scored one goal in 22 games in all competitions for Spurs this season.
