Where next for Antoine Griezmann?

Sports Mole discusses what the future could hold for Real Sociedad attacker Antoine Griezmann.

There have been a number of impressive performers in La Liga this season, but few have made as great an impact as Real Sociedad attacker Antoine Griezmann.

The 22-year-old has netted 15 times in La Liga this season (19 in all competitions) and will play a key role in Sociedad's fight for a second successive fourth-place finish in Spain's top flight.

It seems unlikely that the Basque outfit will be able to retain the Frenchman's services in the summer and with that in mind, Sports Mole has identified five possible destinations.

1. Barcelona

The Catalan outfit are not exactly short of attacking options - especially in wider positions - but the chance to snap up another of La Liga's brightest talents is an opportunity that might be too good to miss for the champions. Griezmann ran Barca ragged at the weekend as he scored one and made one in his side's 3-1 victory at San Sebastian.

The Frenchman's performances over the last couple of seasons have shown that he is right at home at this level, while Barca would be able to offer him the chance to play Champions League football on a season-by-season basis. The final decision will ultimately be down to the player, however, and Barca might find it hard to offer first-team football week in week out, which could scupper any possible move.

2. Manchester United

It is no secret that the Premier League champions have money to spend in the summer, with David Moyes - should the Scot survive the season - reportedly set to be handed in the region of £100m to overhaul his squad. Like Barcelona, United have more pressing areas of concern than their attack, but with the futures of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia all uncertain, a move would certainly make sense.

Slowly United appear to be moving away from out-and-out wingers, but Griezmann's ability to operate across the front would surely prove a welcome attraction. The player himself is believed to be keen on a move to England, but it remains to be seen whether United could secure his services if, as expected, they miss out on the top four in the Premier League and consequently a spot in the Champions League next season.

3. Arsenal

The Gunners are another club that have been strongly linked with Griezmann's services as head coach Arsene Wenger looks at the possibility of adding to his French contingent at the Emirates Stadium. The London outfit are flush with attacking midfield options, but they do not have a player in the mould of Griezmann, who is a genuine goal threat in the final third.

A move to the English capital would surely prove an attractive proposition for the 22-year-old, but there are clubs, certainly in this list, that would be prepared to offer significantly higher wages. Arsenal do have money to spend this summer, but with an out-and-out striker a more pressing concern, a move for Griezmann could ultimately be pushed down the pecking order.

4. Paris Saint-Germain

Money, in terms of a transfer figure and wages, will not be a concern for PSG, who are another European heavyweight that are expected to flash the cash this summer. While Lucas Moura has impressed in recent weeks, the Brazilian is still yet to win everyone over in Paris. There would certainly be a spot in the XI for Griezmann, who would add a different dimension to their attack.

A move back to his country of birth would surely turn Griezmann's head, while it would certainly aid his chances of securing a regular role in his national team. As well as the chance to secure domestic titles on a regular basis, PSG's stunning wealth has made them a real threat in the Champions League - a competition in which Griezmann played for Sociedad this season.

5. Chelsea

Like Arsenal, Chelsea are expected to prioritise the signing of a top-class centre-forward this summer, but Blues boss Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of Griezmann after watching the attacker at close quarters while he was in charge of Real Madrid. The opportunity to deploy an attacking trio that has Eden Hazard on one side and Griezmann on the other is one that will certainly excite Blues fans.

That said, Mourinho already has a number of attacking midfield options and like Barcelona, may not be able to offer Griezmann a key role in his XI, which will play a role in the 22-year-old's next move. Griezmann has had his off-the-field issues in the past, but Mourinho is certainly one of the best in the business at managing big characters.

Sports Mole says: Paris Saint-Germain. Not only do the French champions have the financial clout to blow their rivals out of the water in terms of wages, the chance to return home would surely be a strong bargaining tool for the Paris side. It would not be a surprise to see a move tied up before the World Cup, with Griezmann widely expected to be named in the French squad despite disciplinary issues during his time with the Under-21s.
