Manchester United are willing to let Christian Eriksen leave Old Trafford for just £5m before the end of the transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to let Christian Eriksen leave Old Trafford for just £5m in the final week of the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford this summer, and a number of clubs are believed to have made contact with Man United to discuss a move before the end of the transfer market.

According to Football Insider, such is the club's desire to move him on, offers in the region of £5m would be accepted, with the Denmark international's time at Old Trafford set to come to an end in the near future.

The report claims that Man United's desire to remove Eriksen's salary from their wage budget means that they are prepared to sell him for a cut-price fee over the next seven days.

The Dane moved to Old Trafford on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 off the back of an excellent spell with Brentford in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign.

Eriksen was a key player for Man United in 2022-23, scoring twice and registering 10 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions, but he found it difficult to show his best form last term.

The midfielder only managed one goal and three assists in 28 appearances in 2023-24, while he has been an unused substitute for Man United's two matches this season in the Community Shield and Premier League.

Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Mason Mount and Scott McTominay are all ahead of Eriksen in the pecking order when it comes to the midfield spots.

The Red Devils are on the verge of bringing in Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, so Eriksen is unlikely to receive much action if he stays at Old Trafford this summer.

Back in March, Eriksen said that he had informed head coach Erik ten Hag of his frustration, with the Dane "unhappy" to no longer be considered a regular for the Red Devils.

Eriksen admitted in March he was "unhappy" with situation

"I have previously stated that I am not satisfied with not playing, but it's not something that keeps me up at night," Eriksen told Tipsbladet at the time. "The team is performing, and I must respect the role you have alongside. For my part, it has been about working hard and focusing on being fresh for every game, and I am. It is easier now to accept my role than it would have been before.

"I have had a conversation with Erik about being unhappy with the situation and wanting to play as much as possible, but I am available and need to be available for the team, which I am and always will be.

"He said it was the team he had chosen, and Kobbie is doing well and the rest of the midfield is also performing well, so there is competition for places, which is expected when playing for a top club. There is great competition within the team.

"Of course, you can be concerned in the long run because I want to play as much as possible. Naturally, you don't want to always sit on the bench. I don't have that approach to it, but it's not something that worries me right now. Often when you change teams and win, you don't change the winning team, and I respect that."

Eriksen is unlikely to remain in the Premier League, and it has been suggested that the strongest interest is currently arriving from Belgian giants Anderlecht.
