Dimitar Berbatov believes that it would be better for everyone if he left Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes that it would be best for both parties if he left the club this summer.

The Bulgarian frontman has found himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford over the past two seasons, with Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck all preferred by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

As a result, quotes attributed to the 31-year-old on Facebook this afternoon have indicated that he feels his time with the Red Devils is up.

"The truth is, I love this club, but I am not going to be useful to anyone, if I am not playing," he wrote. "And I want to play, I want to help.

"But for unknown reasons its not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it's better for everyone if we say goodbye.

"If not, I am professional and I will keep doing everything I can, to help my team and my teammates, whenever I have opportunity to do so."

The £30.75m signing went on to reveal that he held discussions with Ferguson, who has informed him of his transfer value.

"I am tired of speculation, I am telling you this," he added. "I read the papers and I see they say £10m is my price.

"I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to me 5m...So who is telling the truth, what do you think?"

Berbatov joined United from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
