Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek was reportedly offered to Barcelona in a swap deal for Samuel Umtiti.
Van de Beek's first full season at Man United saw him feature a mere four times from the first whistle in the Premier League, and he has been tipped to head for the exit door amid reported interest from Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Umtiti has been pictured taking part in pre-season training with Barca, but he is one of the club's big earners thought to be on the transfer list given their financial crisis.
According to Sport, Van de Beek was offered to the Catalan giants and United would have been given Umtiti in return, but it is unclear whether the Red Devils were actually interested in the Frenchman.
United are instead expected to secure a deal for Umtiti's 2018 World Cup partner Raphael Varane, who was also the subject of a rumoured part-exchange deal involving Van de Beek.
Umtiti, meanwhile, is being strongly linked with a return to Lyon, and Les Gones have reportedly opened talks with Barcelona over a loan deal for the centre-back.
