Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly preparing to rival Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave his Ligue 1 club during this summer's transfer window, with the Frenchman thought to be available for a fee in the region of £22m.
Arsenal and Tottenham continue to be credited with an interest in Aouar, but according to Le10Sport, Man United and Liverpool are also in the hunt for his signature.
The one-time France international has scored 32 times and registered 31 assists in 170 appearances for Lyon in all competitions, including eight goals and four assists in 33 outings last term.
Aouar current deal with Les Gones is due to expire in June 2023, though, and he is expected to be sold for a fee considerately less than the figure quoted for interested clubs last summer.
Liverpool are looking to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum in the current market, while Man United are believed to be keen to add another central midfielder ahead of the new season.
