Arjen Robben plays down Manchester United link

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has played down suggestions that he will join Manchester United to team up again with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has played down suggestions that he could team up with Louis van Gaal again at Manchester United.

Reports have suggested that the United boss is keen to sign the 31-year-old, having previously worked with him at Bayern and with the Netherlands national team.

However, Robben has insisted that he is content at Bayern and is not looking to leave the Allianz Arena.

"I never thought about a transfer [away from Bayern]," talkSPORT quotes him as saying. "I am happy in Munich, my family is happy in Munich.

"My contract runs until 2017. You can't look too far forward in football, but everything is fine at the moment - I hope things continue this way."

Van Gaal signed Robben for Bayern in August 2009.
