Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Everton

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news as they attempt to bounce back from their Champions League exit when they face Everton on Sunday.

Manchester United must dust themselves off following their midweek Champions League exit as they resume their efforts to qualify for next season's competition away to Everton on Sunday.

The Red Devils find themselves playing catch-up in the top-four race, with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea all above them in the standings and two points separating them from the final Champions League spot.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have lost five of their last seven games across all competitions and face an Everton side that has taken points off Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent weeks, but United know that any more slip-ups at this stage of the season could prove fatal to their hopes of breaking into the top four.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the visitors' latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's showdown.

Ander Herrera

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 21 (vs. Everton)

Solskjaer's curious suggestion that Ander Herrera's absence could be linked to uncertainty over his future raised eyebrows, but it is also a hamstring injury which has sidelined the Spaniard. Herrera is now back in training, though, and should be in contention to feature this weekend.

Eric Bailly

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Concussion
Possible return date: April 24 (vs. Man City)

Eric Bailly has not featured since suffering a head injury on international duty with Ivory Coast last month but will return to training this weekend and could be available for the derby in midweek.

Antonio Valencia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle injury
Possible return date: Unknown

What looks like being Antonio Valencia's final season in a Manchester United shirt has been plagued by injuries, and he remains sidelined for this match as his contract ticks down.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Luke Shaw

Having also been banned in midweek, Luke Shaw remains suspended domestically after picking up 10 yellow cards in the Premier League. Sunday will be the second and final match of his two-game ban.
