Sir Alex Ferguson has selected an attacking lineup for Manchester United's trip to Newcastle United.

Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney start their first Premier League match together, with Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck also picked in the starting 11.

David de Gea is in ahead of Anders Lindegaard, while Jonny Evans has shrugged off a dead leg to partner Rio Ferdinand in central defence.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is able to call upon Davide Santon, Jonas Gutierrez, Hatem Ben Arfa and striker Demba Ba after the quarter were rested in midweek.
