Team News: Wayne Rooney starts for United

Wayne Rooney starts for Manchester United as they travel to struggling Swansea City.

Wayne Rooney will start for Manchester United as they travel to struggling Swansea City this afternoon.

In all, manager Jose Mourinho makes five changes to the side that could only claim a goalless draw with Burnley last time out, with Rooney usurping Marcus Rashford as support for lone striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic alongside Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, the fit-again Michael Carrick and the returning Marouane Fellaini.

There are two changes in the backline, with Phil Jones and Ashley Young coming in for Luke Shaw and Daley Blind, who drops to the bench.

Elsewhere, Jesse Lingard too drops to the bench and Ander Herrera misses out through suspension, meaning recalls for Carrick and Fellaini.

Meanwhile, Bob Bradley makes four changes to the side that lost 3-1 at Stoke City last time out as he hunts for his first win as the Swans' manager.

Angel Rangel and Stephen Kingsley come into the back four as Kyle Naughton drops to the bench and Neil Taylor misses out, while Modou Barrow is also among the substitutes as Leon Britton makes the starting XI.

Swansea City: Fabianski; Rangel, Van der Hoorn, Mawson, Kingsley; Routledge, Ki, Britton, Sigurdsson; Borja, Llorente
Subs: Nordfeldt, Naughton, Amat, Cork, Fer, Barrow, Montero

Manchester United: De Gea; Young, Jones, Rojo, Darmian; Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Pogba, Rooney; Ibrahimovic
Subs: Romero, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Lingard, Schneiderlin, Martial, Rashford
