Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic taken to hospital

David Moyes reveals that Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has been taken to hospital following a collision with David de Gea.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed that Nemanja Vidic has been taken to hospital to be treated for a head injury that the Serbian defender picked up in their 1-0 victory over Arsenal this afternoon.

Vidic collided with United goalkeeper David de Gea as both players attempted to clear the ball from the penalty area.

"He has gone to hospital, I have only just seen him myself and I didn't see how bad it was from the touchline, but it was a terrible clash," Moyes told Sky Sports News after the game.

"It was an accident but hopefully he will be okay, I will find out more from the medics later on."

United won the game thanks to a first-half header from former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
