Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has tipped his arch rivals Liverpool to be strong contenders for the Premier League title this season.
Jurgen Klopp's men have picked up 13 points from a possible 18, beating Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City in the process.
The Merseyside outfit have netted 16 goals across six league games and sit fourth in the standings, one point above United.
During his punditry duties on BT Sport, Scholes was asked about Liverpool's title credentials, to which he replied: "I was a little bit worried about them defensively but you have to say the attacking quality they're showing at the minute they look like they're going to score goals against anybody."
After failing to rule out Liverpool winning the league, Scholes's fellow pundit Michael Owen said: "I'll leave Scholesy to continue drooling over Liverpool."
Scholes then swiftly added: "I hope they don't."
Liverpool will take on United at Anfield in just over a fortnight.
