Scholes: 'Liverpool remains biggest game'

Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes that his side's clashes against Liverpool remain their "biggest" of the season.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes that Liverpool remain the Red Devils' fiercest rivals in the Premier League.

A gap has widened between the two English sides in terms of success and many have argued that the main fixtures in the calendar for United are now their clashes against local rivals Manchester City.

Despite Liverpool's recent struggles, Scholes believes that playing against them is still United's "biggest" contest.

"Liverpool probably haven't done as well as they'd have liked over the last few years and they'd probably admit that," BBC Sport quotes Scholes as saying.

"Liverpool historically are our biggest rivals, they're always the biggest games and the best atmospheres. But I'm sure City will run them close."

The two clubs go head to head at Old Trafford on Sunday.
