Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmiechel has insisted that his old club should be happy with a point in today's derby match.
United visit the Etihad with a three-point lead over Manchester City in the title race.
Schmiechel also believes that City are finding out how difficult it is to retain the Premier League title.
He told BBC Sport: "We're seeing how difficult it is to be defending champions when you've never been that before.
"This is probably why we see a bit of inconsistency from City. It took United a long time to find the system that worked for them in Europe so I'm not surprised City are struggling in Europe.
"To retain the title is a lot more difficult than winning it the first time. A point would be a great result for United."
City took maximum points from Manchester derbies last season, winning 6-1 at Old Trafford and by a single Vincent Kompany goal at home.
