Manchester United will reportedly launch a fresh attempt to bring Paul Scholes back to the club following the sacking of manager David Moyes.
The 39-year-old, who retired from playing at the end of last season, worked as an assistant to reserve team manager Nicky Butt earlier this term.
However, it is thought that Scholes became disillusioned with what he felt were half-hearted attempts by Moyes to find him a role at Old Trafford.
United are keen to add Scholes to their coaching setup as they look to retain a connection with the club's past, according to the Daily Mail.
The former England international made 718 appearances for United between 1994 and 2013.
Scholes's former teammate Ryan Giggs has been appointed as interim manager until the end of the season.
