Clayton Blackmore: 'Manchester United players will respect Ryan Giggs'

Former Manchester United defender Clayton Blackmore says that Ryan Giggs will have the respect of the players after taking temporary charge at Old Trafford.

Former Manchester United defender Clayton Blackmore believes that Ryan Giggs will have the respect of the players after taking temporary charge of the club.

The Welshman has been confirmed as interim manager until the end of the season following the dismissal of David Moyes on Tuesday morning.

Giggs will take control of first-team affairs until a permanent successor to Moyes is found.

"He's going to get the respect because he's done more than any other player in the Premier League," Blackmore told BBC Radio Wales.

"For me he could be the man to look after the club in the foreseeable future. Everybody starts somewhere and the experience you've got. He's got 22 years' experience with Alex Ferguson so he knows everything Alex Ferguson's done."

Giggs has made 962 appearances for United since making his debut in 1991.
