Premier League teams reportedly want the number of substitutions allowed per game to be increased to five if they are to cram their remaining fixtures into a month.

Premier League clubs will reportedly call for a couple of major rules changes in order to complete their remaining fixtures.

The top flight of English football, as well as other major leagues across the world, has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

League chiefs are supposedly planning to cram the remaining 92 games into a single month, meaning teams playing multiple games a week.

According to The Mirror, most clubs are concerned about fatigue and injuries for the players, especially after a prolonged break.

That could mean the introduction of five substitutions per game, up from three, while the use of VAR may also be discarded.

Premier League officials are due to meet on Friday to discuss the next steps going forward.
