Mark Noble: 'You can't switch off against top teams'

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble suggests that his side temporarily switched off as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Manchester United.

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has suggested that his side switched off after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United.

Sam Allardyce's charges originally led through a standout Cheikhou Kouyate finish, before Daley Blind notched another fine strike of his own to give Louis van Gaal's stuttering side a point on the road.

"It feels like a loss. It shows how far we have come that we are gutted we drew with Manchester United," Noble told Sky Sports after the clash.

"In many spells I thought we were the better team and just couldn't hold out until the end.

"You can't switch off against these top teams because they will punish you and that's what happened."

West Ham currently occupy eighth spot in the Premier League standings.
