Former Manchester United winger Nani has backed Jose Mourinho to return the glory days to Old Trafford following his appointment as manager.
The 53-year-old, who had been out of work since getting sacked by Chelsea in December, was hired by the Red Devils last week, replacing Louis van Gaal, who won the FA Cup during a two-season spell.
United lost their dominant position in the Premier League following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013, and inconsistency followed in short stints under David Moyes and Van Gaal, but Nani, who now plays for Fenerbahce, believes that Mourinho is the man to make United a force again.
"He has done well in England in the past," Nani told reporters. "We know he can always produce something at every team he goes to and we hope he will help Manchester United to win titles again."
Mourinho has won 22 trophies in his 16 years of management.
