Jose Mourinho is "happy" with the way Manchester United's preparations for the new campaign are panning out, having overcome Man City to make it three wins in a row.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has declared himself "very happy" with the club's pre-season campaign to date after seeing his side make it three wins from three.

The Red Devils earned victories over Major League Soccer clubs Los Angeles Galaxy and Real Salt Lake in their first two outings of the summer, before beating rivals Manchester City 2-0 in the early hours of Friday morning.

Marcus Rashford and star striker Romelu Lukaku scored the goals against City in Houston to maintain United's perfect run, with Mourinho particularly pleased to see his new recruits quickly settle in during the first leg of their tour.

"Ten days of work, two more matches here in USA and then we go to Europe," he told reporters. "But I am very happy with everything, the social life of the team is really good, fantastic people in the group, the new guys arrive and are at home and settled in immediately."

Next up for United is a meeting with Real Madrid in Santa Clara on Sunday, before then rounding off their trip to the United States with a game against fellow heavyweights Barcelona in six days' time.
