Former Manchester United defender Paul McGrath has expressed his belief that Louis van Gaal's side will take a spot in the top four at the expense of Liverpool.
The arch rivals are both vying for a Champions League place, but United have the edge as they are already in fourth with a five-point lead over Liverpool.
However, Brendan Rodgers's team will play their game in hand against Swansea City this evening, and the gap will be closed down to just two points should the Reds win.
Despite Liverpool's strong form of late, McGrath believes that United's performance in their 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday proves that they have what it takes to stay in the top four.
"Liverpool are the only team who can do a bit of damage to Manchester United," McGrath told talkSPORT. "I don't see it happening now though. United are clicking into gear at the right time and are relaxed in the way they're playing their football."
Liverpool and United will go head to head at Anfield on Sunday.
