Manchester United's Juan Mata: 'We must sign off with a win'

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata says that the club's players are determined to put in a good performance against Hull City on Tuesday to repay the supporters.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has said that the players are determined to repay the club's supporters by winning their final home match of the season against Hull City on Tuesday.

The Red Devils slumped to their seventh league defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Sunderland.

"Last Saturday we didn't win, but also we didn't play the way we want to and have to," Mata wrote in his online blog. "I was feeling good on the pitch, but Sunderland took their first chance to score and we weren't able to come back in the second half.

"The good thing is that on Tuesday we play again at Old Trafford against Hull City. It's our last game at home this season and we want to have a decent farewell in front of our fans, with a good game and a victory.

"They have given us a remarkable support throughout the last year and that shows the greatness of the club and the loyalty of our fans in the good and, in particular, the bad moments."

United remain seventh in the Premier League table following Saturday's defeat.
