Manchester United players turn on Louis van Gaal?

A report claims that Louis van Gaal has lost the complete support of the Manchester United players following the 3-0 defeat away at Tottenham Hotspur.

Louis van Gaal has reportedly lost what little support he had left in the Manchester United dressing room.

The under-pressure Dutchman was critical of the way that his players allowed Tottenham Hotspur to score three unanswered goals within the space of six second-half minutes at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

It was a result that severely dented United's chances of finishing in the top four, as a second season out of the last three without Champions League football looks increasingly likely.

However, The Sun claims that the United squad have pinned the defeat away at Spurs on their manager's tactics.

The report adds that the players were particularly disappointed with Van Gaal's treatment of young striker Marcus Rashford, who was substituted at the interval.

It is claimed that Van Gaal hit out at the 18-year-old for playing in the wide areas too much and then compounded his misery by replacing him with midfielder Ashley Young, which is also said to have deeply confused the squad.

The supposedly fractious relationship between the boss and his players will be tested further tomorrow night when they travel to West Ham United for an FA Cup quarter-final replay.
