Manchester United eye RB Leipzig boss Julian Naglesmann as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly view RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann as a future manager of the club.

The German played youth football for 1860 Munich and Augsburg before being forced to retire at the age of 20 due to a succession of knee injuries.

Naglesmann started as assistant coach at Hoffenheim during the 2012-13 campaign before stepping into the managerial position in 2016 - ultimately spending three years in charge of the German club, where he was the youngest manager in Bundesliga history at the age of 28.

The now 32-year-old took charge of Leipzig in June and has won six of his 10 games in charge of the Bundesliga outfit during an impressive start at the Red Bull Arena.

According to the Daily Mail, United have 'earmarked' Naglesmann as a future manager at Old Trafford, with the English giants already 'doing their groundwork' on the young head coach.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has overseen United's worst start to a top-flight campaign in 30 years, leading to suggestions that the Norwegian is under severe pressure.

The Red Devils have lost two of their last three Premier League matches, including a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Next up for the 20-time English champions is a home game against runaway leaders Liverpool, who travel to Old Trafford in the Premier League after the international break.
