Louis van Gaal: 'Leicester City favourites for title'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal tips Leicester City to edge Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that Leicester City deserve to be regarded as favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

The Foxes have maintained their remarkable form throughout the entire campaign so far to sit two points clear at the top of the table with just 11 games remaining, although Tottenham Hotspur are in close pursuit.

Van Gaal believes that the frontrunners should always be regarded as favourites, but warned both clubs that they still have to face his side after the Red Devils dealt a major blow to Arsenal's title hopes on Sunday.

"Always the number one has the biggest chance. That is Leicester. Tottenham are playing very well. They have a big chance. They both have to play against us," he told reporters.

United, meanwhile, could move level on points with local rivals Manchester City in fourth place should they beat Watford and City lose at Liverpool on Wednesday night.
