Jesse Lingard delighted with dream debut

Jesse Lingard reveals his delight having scored all four goals on his Birmingham City debut after joining on loan from Manchester United.

Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard has revealed his delight at scoring four goals on his Birmingham City debut.

The 20-year-old scored all of Birmingham's goals in a 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday before coming off with cramp.

He is hoping that United allow him to feature in the League Cup in midweek, but if not, then he is looking forward to the Blues game against Reading next week.

"I enjoyed it," Lingard told City's official website. "It's a dream come true really. After the first goal my confidence was up and I just wanted to score more.

"I'm glad we got the three points which was massive for the club. I know they haven't got off to the best of starts but obviously I'm here to change that.

"Hopefully I can play against Swansea [City] but if not I'll be looking forward to Reading next week."

Lingard has represented United at all youth levels and has featured for England Under-21s this season.
