Manchester United's Juan Mata focused on Champions League race

Juan Mata says that Manchester United need to pick up more points if they are to finish in the top four this season.

Juan Mata believes that Manchester United cannot afford to drop points in tomorrow's clash against Burnley as the race to finish in the Champions League places hots up.

Louis van Gaal's side are currently fourth in the Premier League table, but Tottenham Hotspur are just one point below them, while Arsenal and Liverpool are also vying for a top-four finish.

"We play at home against Burnley and we must win this one because the race for the Champions League spots is now very close," Mata wrote in his weekly blog.

"We have to get the three points at home, we know that, and that's what we are working for. I'm sure we will make it with our people's help."

On Sunday, United rescued a late 1-1 draw against West Ham United at Upton Park.
