Zlatan Ibrahimovic given more time off than Manchester United teammates

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have more days off than his teammates.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be given more time off than his teammates during the international break.

The 34-year-old, who joined the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, has played in the entire 90 minutes of United's three Premier League games of the season.

The former Sweden international scored in the Red Devils' 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the season, and netted both goals in his side's 2-0 triumph over Southampton.

Over the next week, Mourinho has opted to give Ibrahimovic four days off to recuperate, while the other players will have two rest days.

"At 34 years old, you need to rest," Sky Sports News quotes Mourinho as saying. "You cannot play 70 matches a season. So I give the other guys, who are not selected for the national teams, two days, and I give four days to Zlatan.

"I give holidays a la carte. It depends on the situation, and he is playing every match, every minute. So four matches - he played 360 minutes - four days off for the big guy."

After the international break, United will welcome fierce rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford on September 10.
