England manager Roy Hodgson has lauded Tom Cleverley's performance against Moldova by stating that the midfielder 'did not look out of place'.
The 23-year-old earned his second international cap in the 5-0 win in Moldova, and Hodgson has revealed that the Manchester United midfielder's display has helped him understand why his club manager Sir Alex Ferguson rates him so highly.
Hodgson said: "Cleverley was excellent for 90 minutes and when you watch him, you understand why Sir Alex Ferguson is pleased with him.
"Tom's come into a team alongside the likes of Lampard, Gerrard and Carrick and didn't look at all out of place."
England's next World Cup qualifying match is against Ukraine at Wembley on Tuesday night.
